Why am I still awake.

Anyway. Here’s me cradling Arthur, my friend’s new kitten. He is adorable and was quite sleepy after a long first day home.

Unf.

The Exclamation Comma. “Just because you’re excited about something doesn’t mean you have to end the sentence.”

14 Punctuation Marks You Never Knew Existed

You can actually do an exclamation point followed by a comma. ^_^

Poor Patrick, look at his disappointment.

Naw, man. Patrick spares her because she’s pure. She’s good and doesn’t play the bullshit games like everyone else. That isn’t a face of disappointment. It’s a face that just realized there is some pure good left in the world. And that he cannot destroy it.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

So basically every time Neil is on Jon’s show, Jon ends up being emotionally and spiritually moved, or massively turned on. Probably usually both. SCIENCE.

Hunter S. Thompson photographed March 12, 1974 on the beach of Cozumel, Mexico by Al Satterwhite.

That man.. sometimes my guy reminds me a lot of Hunter, and then I remember his insane drug addiction and eventual suicide… But he was such an amazing writer! Why does depression (which people love to self-medicate with various substances) so often go hand-in-hand with talent.

His mate was seriously injured after she was hit by a car as she swooped low across the road. He brought her food and tended to her with love and compassion.
He brought her food again but was shocked to find her dead. He then tried to move her….a rarely-seen effort for swallows. Aware that his mate is dead, he cries with adoring love. He stood beside her body with sadness and sorrow.
People cried after seeing these pictures when they were published in the leading newspaper in France. All copies of the paper were sold out on the day the pictures were released.

And many people think animals don’t have emotions.

Birds are pretty special.

I’ll always remember the time I was housesitting by a lake… I loved to hang out with the Canada geese in the morning. The flock would let me walk among them (these are the nice kind of Canada geese, obviously) and just be generally awesome. One day when I was leaving in the morning, I saw the flock standing in the two-lane road. They were mostly on my side, so I got in the opposite lane to go around them… when I saw her. One of my beautiful goose friends lying dead, hit by a car. The geese wouldn’t leave her.

I pulled over and got out, scooping her into my arms. Geese are very heavy, it’s a wonder they get airborne. I walked to the side of the road, the flock moving around me, following me, quietly honking. I laid her down a ways off the road and they surrounded her like an honor guard.

Scarlett Johansson is gorgeous. To say the very least.

My friend let her bulldog Jager outside, and came back to see him playing with a new friend who had wandered into the yard.

A little more info…

It seems the little fawn may be abandoned. The area where my friend lives is near a large nature preserve, so many deer roam the area. This little fawn stayed put in their yard for hours, but it’s mother never showed up. It’s possible the mother was hit by a car - there is some busy streets nearby, or maybe the poor little thing is lost.

My friend and her husband are calling the animal control office tomorrow morning to see if they can come rescue the fawn. They’ll try to track down the mother, and can help keep the fawn happy and healthy for now.

Right now, they are feeding the fawn with a bottle, and it seems to have made a cozy home for itself with some blankets on their patio.
